Figurative Language

Today I was learning about Figurative Language. Figurative Language is a type of descriptive language where the meaning of the phrase is not to be taken literally or word for word. The phrase has a deeper abstract meaning. Here are some Figurative Language. Metaphor, Onomatopoeia, Hyperbole, Alliteration, simile,Oxymoron and more.....
This task was really interesting and fun. I am so glad to be able to learn these new words and what it means. Hope you enjoyed my Figurative Language task and find very interesting facts about it. Have a great day!

Matariki

Today we are learning about, what Matariki is all about. Matariki is about the celebration of the Maori new year. Matariki is very important because it helps us remember both 7 or 9 stars and what there are all about. Here are some questions I am going to be answering from my teacher, Mrs Tele'a.

Questions:

* What do we see in the sky? We see the 7 or 9 stars of matariki in the sky.
*  Highlights from Matariki?  For matariki I was doing sports in the school hall.me and my group for matariki, was playing a maori game to celebrate the Maori new year. My teachers for matariki day, was Mr wright, Tison and Mrs va'afusuanga. They are the sports teachers for Pt England School.
* Should New Zealand celebrate Matariki? Yes. Why? because it really means everything to us people and that they also support the Maori new year.
Enjoy the year of Matariki.

Choose It Narrative Writing Test

Begin Writing Here:

One day it was Christmas, but also my best friend's Birthday. Her name is Amelia.
That day all my friend’s were at my house, except for the Birthday Girl ( Amelia ).
We were at my house because we wanted to plan something for Amelia’s birthday.
We had a problem. The problem was that, of course it was Amelia’s birthday, but
it was  also Christmas day at the same time. We had to make a solution. At first
we were planning on what to do for Amelia’s birthday. Second we had a problem and
now we need to make a solution. Hmmmmmmm?  Says one of the members of BFF’s!!
What if we make a christmas present for Amelia’s Birthday. Yes, Yes! Says another member of our
Bff groups.  Great idea!  Says the leader of the group.

3 of  the members were making their own christmas present for Amelia’s birthday, each of us members
were done with the christmas present for our best friend. We were ready to give our present to our best
friend, But then we forgot one more thing, what? What did we forget about? Say one of the members.
We forgot to wear a nice costume for Christmas Day and Amelia’s Birthday. Says the leader.
Ohhhhhhhh! Says the same member, again. Well then Let's get ready!!! Says the quietest member in our
group. We were finally ready to give our own Christmas present to Amelia on her birthday. We all walked
down to her house with Joy and surprised her with our christmas present. She was Excited, Happy and
had goosebumps all over her hands and legs. We knew she was going to open the presents up straight
away. Amelia jumped up and down as hard as she could with joy and was really grateful for us giving
christmas presents on her 12th year old Birthday. Me and my friends all asked her if she was allowed to
come with us to have 3 scoops of crispy jumbo ice cream, for each one of us. When she heard that we all
said 3 scoops of crispy jumbo ice cream for ourselves she knew it was going to be nice. So then she rushed
to her parents and asked them if she could go out with her friends because it was her birthday. Of course
her parents wouldn't say ‘NO!!!’ because it was her birthday and also they knew we were her best friends
since we were all little girls. So then her parents said, Yes! Of course you can go out with your friends!
Says Amelia’s dad. Make sure you guys are safe and don’t get runned over by a car!! Says the Mum!
OK! Says Amelia rushing out the door, We will stay safe! Bye love you! Says Amelia to her parents while
shutting the door with excitement. Me and my friends (including the birthday girl) went to buy our own
3 scoops of crispy jumbo of ice cream and went back home with fun and exhausting feelings. That was
the best day of my life! Says all the members of that  together on the next day.

The End!

The Atmosphere

Malo E lelei and welcome back to my Blog. Today me and my class was working about the Atmosphere. Here is a image that I drawled using Google drawings for our work. I learned that there are layers of gases surrounding the earth. There are 5 layers of gases. Each layers goes in order from 1 to 5. Troposphere, Stratosphere, Mesosphere, Thermosphere and Exosphere. These are layers of Atmosphere. We can live in Troposphere because it is the Air we breath in, and is the closest to the Earth we live in.  We cannot live in Exosphere because there are no air for us to breath in, and it is very cold. It is also in the very edge of our Atmosphere. Hope you enjoyed this task and found interesting facts about our Atmosphere. Have a wonderful day!!!
What did you already know about our Atmosphere?

Taha Tinana Challenge

Talofa Lava and welcome back to my blog. Today's task we were doing another Taha Tinana Challenge. We were given this task from Hannah who is another student in Pt England School. We had to bend our knee and push it up, then we had to attach it to our other leg that is still standing, after that we had to put our hands together and close our eyes and stay on that position for 1 minuet. We did stuggle a lot but it was totally fine because we can still change legs if we feel like its comfortable and is easier to do. Hope you guys enjoyed this task and has done  this Taha Tinana Challenge.
What is your Taha Tinana Challenge?
